Have Fun, Not UHS Fun: A Cautionary Word About Alcohol and Proper Identification
As you all know by now, you must be 21 years old in order to be served a drink containing alcohol. Anyone who wishes to drink a beverage containing alcohol may do so only if he or she is able to produce a valid, proper state or government-issued picture ID. In compliance with the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the College and its agents will not serve or provide alcoholic beverages to any student or other individual below the legal age.
Your birth date appears on your College ID; however, this is not a valid ID for proof of age. Seniors should carry both a valid College ID and state or government-issued ID at all Senior Week events, both on and off campus. If you wish to drink alcohol at any of the events where alcohol will be served, you must be prepared to show your state driver’s license, a state liquor ID, or a valid passport. For the Cruise and Dance, you will need at least one of the IDs listed above in addition to your Harvard ID.
No one is allowed to bring alcohol to any of the events described in this book. Additionally, the presentation of false identification will be, as always, considered a violation of University rules and Massachusetts law. Students violating these rules will be subject to disciplinary sanctions.
